DESCRIPTION
The UAPD [Utilitarian All Purpose Droid] was a productional response to a high function general purpose droid. With a design brief that within reason they could physically do what a human could do.

With the advent of cheap, mass-produced, low-energy, highly efficient rotary servomotors meaning that a jointed structure needn’t be exaggerated and could simulate the basic human form and be more acceptable in the human environment. Relatively inexpensive, UAPDs are now seen working side-by-side wherever humans work and in many places too hazardous to do so.
